The Loyal Opposition, January 22, 2025: NAACP of Sumner County

“We need leaders not in love with money but in love with justice. Not in love with publicity but in love with humanity.”- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

On the latest episode of The Loyal Opposition, we introduce you to Hollis Rutledge, President, and Trina McKnight, Assisant Treasurer and Unity Day Committee Chair from Sumner County's Chapter of the NAACP.

Dr. King spoke the words above just a little over a decade before the Sumner County NAACP was started by Pastor Herbert Cecil Scott, Hollis' great uncle, in Gallatin in 1968.

Catch the replay of the show to learn how the local chapter is working to eliminate discrimination, uphold the constitution, advocate for social justice, build community, and more.
